Following an initial showing in March of this year, the Neta V makes its official launch debut in Malaysia today. This tiny electric vehicle (EV) costs RM100,000 on-the-road without insurance and is distributed by GoAuto Group's wholly-owned subsidiary Intro Synergy.
A five-year, 150,000-kilometer warranty for basic components and a 10-year, 200,000-kilometer warranty for the body are included with every purchase. A 180,000-kilometer, eight-year guarantee is in place for the high-voltage parts, such the battery and onboard charger. The Neta V pre-facelift that we're getting is a little different in appearance from the revised model that was revealed in China a few months ago. There, it also receives a new moniker, Aya.

The Neta V is 4,070 mm long, 1,690 mm wide, 1,540 mm tall, and has a wheelbase that spans 2,420 mm, in case you were wondering what those measurements are. For reference, the dimensions of the Perodua Myvi are 3,895 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, 1,515 mm in height, and 2,500 mm in wheelbase. Folding down the rear seats increases the boot volume from 335 liters to 552 liters.
According to the NEDC standard, the Neta V has a ternary lithium battery with an energy capacity of 38.54 kWh that comes from CATL and has a range of 380 km. A front-mounted electric motor with a 95 PS (94 horsepower or 70 kW) rating and 160 Nm is powered by the battery, allowing for a top speed of 120 km/h and an acceleration time of 3.9 seconds from 0 to 50 km/h.

Supported charging methods include AC (Type 2) and DC (CCS2); the latter requires 30 minutes to reach from a 20–80% state of charge at 100 kW. Regarding AC charging, the maximum output is 6.6 kW, and a complete charge requires eight hours.
The Neta V is equipped with a 12-inch digital instrument panel, leatherette seat upholstery, automatic halogen projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED taillights, automatic air conditioning with a HEPA N95 air filter, an electronic parking brake, and a reverse camera. The alloys measure 16 inches in diameter and have a profile of 185/55.

A six-speaker sound system manages audio playback, while a 14.6-inch center touchscreen serves as the infotainment system. Should they so want, users will also be able to project the screen of their phone onto the sizable, portrait-format screen. Additionally, a dashcam can be powered via a dedicated USB plug located at the bottom of the rearview mirror.
The Neta V has the standard variety of passive safety features like traction control, ABS, EBD, braking assist, and ESC in addition to two airbags. There aren't any active DSS features like lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking, but there is passive cruise control, a tire pressure monitor, and hill start aid.

In addition, two package options are offered to Neta V buyers to enhance their purchase. The first is referred to as the "EV Starter Package" and contains a home charger (installation included), a "V2L" adaptor, a motorized tailgate, window tint film, an external air purifier, insurance, and a body kit, the last of which is allegedly unique to our market (seen here).
The second alternative, meanwhile, is an interest-free deal that lasts for up to seven years. We've been informed that this is being provided as a hire purchase program in association with a nearby bank. Only those who meet the requirements can select this option, though, and it is subject to limitations and conditions. Additionally, we are informed that adding the first package is an additional cost option for individuals who do qualify.

Currently coming from China as a fully-imported (CBU) EV, the Neta V will soon be available for purchase as a locally-assembled (CKD) vehicle thanks to Careplus and GoAuto's recently announced agreement to establish an assembly factory in Negeri Sembilan. It will be some time until we see the Neta V in CKD form because the goal is to begin vehicle assembly by the end of 2024, according to a prior statement made by Careplus executive director and group CEO Lim Kwee Shyan.
The Neta V has officially become the most affordable electric vehicle (EV) available in Malaysia with its launch today. It also satisfies the government's mandate that no imported EV with a floor price less than RM100,000 may be sold in Malaysia until the end of the current import duty and excise duty exemption period on CBU EVs (December 31, 2025).

With an OTR price difference of only RM530 for the base Dynamic Standard Range, the BYD Dolphin is the next closest CBU EV to the Neta V. Do you think the Neta V is superior to the Dolphin? Share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
RM100k gets you the cheapest electric vehicle in Malaysia, the 2023 Neta V, with a range of 95 PS, 160 Nm, and 380 km.
