A reader of paultan.org has anonymously sent us more images of the impending Proton S70. This time, we're getting a brief glimpse inside and underneath the C-segment car, which is anticipated to debut in November of this year.
Let's start with the inside, which is unsurprisingly identical to the Geely Emgrand on which the S70 is based, despite being designed for the right-hand drive market in our country. We can clearly see the center console, which is identical in form to Emgrand, and the touchscreen display perched on the dashboard because there is no camouflage in sight.

The instrument binnacle has a similar design, although it's difficult to discern if it contains a cluster of entirely digital instruments. The steering wheel, which appears to be of the same design as the Emgrand, also bears the Proton emblem in certain places.
Regarding the interior of the vehicle, the S70 will have a rear torsion beam that is comparable to the Emgrand now offered in the Philippines. Rear torsion beams and front MacPherson struts are also features of the X50, which shares the same BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) as the S70. An additional C-segment automobile with a back torsion beam? a Mazda 3.

The SUV's 1.5 liter turbocharged inline-three engine, which has a higher output than the Emgrand sold in the Philippines and has a 1.5 liter normally aspirated four-cylinder (102 PS/142 Nm), is also made possible by the adoption of the platform. This engine has a maximum output of 177 PS and 255 Nm.
In the meantime, the S70's external styling is no longer a mystery thanks to numerous pictures and videos of the sedan that have surfaced recently. As previously stated, the Emgrand's fundamental form remains retained, but Proton-specific elements like the grille and wordmark between the rear taillights have been added.

Why S70 instead of S50, as had previously been widely rumored? Well, we wrote a piece back in May detailing why we believed the next sedan will be called that; it's well worth reading. What do you think of the S70 based on the few information, pictures, and videos we've reported on thus far? Are you anticipating its debut?
