Client’s Requirement
In an effort to position itself as a leader in innovative green technology in the automotive industry alongside Tesla, BYD has grown to become the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer. With this in mind, the client aims to aid its expansion in Asia with a new 16-bay service centre in Glenmarie, home to the biggest automotive market in Malaysia. The client sought a flooring system tailored to the medium-duty manufacturing nature of automotive works that would entail in servicing its line of fully-electric plug-in vehicles. With glass panels exposing the vehicles to sunlight, the preferred flooring system also had to guard against the effects of yellowing.Proposed Solution
Polygard® SLT 2090 | 2mm Self-Leveling Epoxy with Polyester Polyurethane Smooth FinishPolygard® SLT 2090 is a 2mm thick, medium-duty self-leveling epoxy floor system with polyester polyurethane finish suitable for use in light manufacturing facilities such as pharmaceutical plants, wafer fabrication plants, aircraft and aerospace industries and so forth. In addition to possessing the chemical resistance to ward off contaminating effects of automotive fluids, the smooth polyurethane finish that topped off the flooring system provided the anti-yellowing benefits the client was looking for.
