JPJ Collects Over RM101 Million from Special Flat-Rate Summons Offer

25-Aug-2025

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has collected more than RM101 million in revenue from unpaid traffic summonses after introducing its special flat-rate compound of RM150 earlier this year. With this offer, offenders were only required to pay RM150 per summons regardless of the original amount.

According to JPJ Deputy Director-General (Planning and Operations) Datuk Jazmanie Shafawi, the initiative covered three main categories of offences — the Automated Awareness Safety System (AwAS), Interview Notices (114), and Sticker/JPJ(P)23 Summons Notices (115). Of the total, AwAS summonses accounted for 635,294 notices, generating over RM95.3 million in collections. Meanwhile, Notice 114 contributed 35,183 cases worth RM5.29 million, and Notice 115 recorded 8,266 cases with collections of more than RM1.23 million.

He stressed that JPJ’s role is not limited to issuing fines or enforcing road laws. While enforcement remains a key responsibility, the department also aims to instill discipline, safety awareness, and a sense of patriotism among the public. “Our enforcement is meant to uphold the law, but equally important is building a culture of safer driving,” he said.
