Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has officially showcased the upcoming Omoda C9 PHEV during the Omoda Jaecoo Carnival at Desa Park City, which runs from 21 to 24 August 2025. Slated for launch towards the end of this year, the plug-in hybrid SUV is expected to be priced around RM220,000.

Under the hood, the C9 PHEV adopts the brand’s Super Hybrid System (SHS), sharing similarities with the Jaecoo J7 PHEV. It combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with three electric motors, paired to a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). Together, the system delivers an impressive 605 hp and 915 Nm, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

Power is supplied by a 34.46 kWh LFP battery, enabling a pure electric driving range of up to 150 km, while charging options include 70 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging. With both fuel and battery fully topped up, the vehicle offers a total driving range of around 1,100 km, with a claimed fuel consumption of 1.7L/100 km (WLTC).

Visually, the PHEV looks almost identical to its petrol-powered sibling, carrying over the same futuristic styling, 20-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, and Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension. The key differences are the charging port on the left side, a PHEV badge on the tailgate, and a slightly revised front bumper design.

Inside, the cabin remains largely unchanged, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a row of physical knobs for climate control. However, on the PHEV, the centre knob is repurposed to toggle between EV and hybrid drive modes. Heated and ventilated front seats are also confirmed.
When launched, the Omoda C9 PHEV will cost about RM31,200 more than the range-topping Omoda C9 AWD, and roughly RM51,200 higher than the Omoda C9 2WD variant.
