Proton’s latest model, the all-new X50, officially hit the market on 24 July, and deliveries are already well underway. In just five working days, 999 units have been handed over to customers across the country, rewarding early supporters even before the vehicle’s pricing was publicly announced. By the end of July, 2,000 units had been assembled at theTanjong Malim plant, helping to build strong momentum heading into the coming months. According to Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar, the X50 launch followed a strategic rollout that included a series of on-ground events aimed at increasing public interest. These efforts clearly paid off — Proton secured 5,000 bookings in just 10 days before revealing the price. As of the end of July, total bookings had reached 8,000 units. “We took proactive steps to boost our inventory before launch,” Zhang explained. “That’s how we were able to deliver nearly 1,000 units within just a few days. With 2,000 units already produced, we’re working hard to maintain high output levels so that customers don’t have to wait long for their new cars.”
