GWM Malaysia has announced the appointment of Roslan Abdullah as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a significant move as the company aims to strengthen its presence in the Malaysian automotive industry.
Roslan, who was previously the Deputy CEO of Proton, brings with him over three decades of leadership experience in the local automotive sector. His career includes key roles at major brands such as Honda, Isuzu Hicom Malaysia, Modenas, and most recently, Proton. His extensive background in both operations and strategy is expected to be a valuable asset as GWM Malaysia moves forward with its expansion plans.
This appointment comes at a pivotal moment as GWM intensifies its commitment to building a future-ready mobility ecosystem in Malaysia — one that supports the nation’s transition toward smarter, greener, and more inclusive transportation solutions.

In a statement, Roslan shared his vision for the brand, saying, “My goal is to position GWM as a trusted long-term mobility partner for Malaysians. We aim to do this through a strong and reliable dealer and service network, a product portfolio that caters to a wide range of needs, and a commitment to delivering seamless ownership experiences.”

GWM Malaysia Managing Director Cui Anqi welcomed Roslan to the leadership team, noting, “His leadership experience and strategic insight will be instrumental in strengthening our operations, reinforcing customer confidence, and establishing GWM as a long-term player in Malaysia’s automotive landscape.”
With this new leadership, GWM Malaysia looks poised to further accelerate its growth and play a more prominent role in the country's evolving automotive market.
