The latest ASEAN NCAP crash test results for the brand-new Mitsubishi Triton, which debuted in the region in July of this year, are out. Since the pickup vehicle has managed to earn a 5-star ASEAN NCAP certification, nothing about this situation is particularly unusual. For those who have been waiting for its launch in Malaysia, this is welcome news.

The all-new Mitsubishi Triton received ratings of 26.01/32.00 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 44.72/51.00 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 15.16/21.00 for Safety Assist, and 8.18/16.00 for Motorcyclist Safety according to the crash test report that was made public. The Triton has an overall rating of 74.71, earning it a 5-star rating.






The all-new Triton is equipped with a newly developed 4N16 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine that comes with three tuning settings: High Output, Standard 1, and Standard 2. The engine is built on a completely new base. The most potent variant produces 470 Nm at 1,500–2,750 rpm and 150 kW (204 hp metric) at 3,500 rpm. The 4N16 can produce 184 horsepower at 430 Nm and 150 horsepower at 330 Nm with its other two tuning options.

Autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control (ACC), forward collision mitigation system (FCM), blind spot warning (BSW), lane change assist (LCA), and rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) are among the safety features available on the brand-new Mitsubishi Triton.






Additionally, the brand-new Mitsubishi Triton has Mitsubishi connect to, which enables you to link your phone to your vehicle. Mitsubishi Connect enables you to use your phone to locate your vehicle, monitor oil condition, check the amount of fuel left in the car, view your driving history, start the air conditioning remotely, turn on the headlights remotely, and operate the horn remotely.

The all-new Mitsubishi Triton was already introduced in Thailand when it made its ASEAN debut, so we should soon be able to drive one. The truck's outgoing version, which comes in 4x4 and 4x2 models, is currently offered in Malaysia.
