Mazda has declared in a statement made on October 30 that the CX-8 will no longer be produced in Japan by the end of 2023. Mazda also sells the CX-8, a three-row SUV, in Malaysia. Its manufacturing of CKD in Malaysia, however, is expected to continue for a few more years.
As a family SUV, the Mazda CX-8 has grown in popularity in Malaysia since its 2018 launch. A new grille design and other improvements were included in the 2023 facelift of the Mazda CX-8.
"The CX-8 was proposed by Mazda as a new option for a multi-passenger vehicle for customers who do not want to give up on performance or design but still want to enjoy driving with family and friends," the firm states in its most recent press release. It was first introduced in 2017 and has since gained popularity among Japanese families as a three-row crossover SUV. Over the years, it has also garnered a lot of customer loyalty. Many thanks for it. Up to December, sales will stop when orders are produced in the required number.
There are five different models of the Mazda CX-8 available in Malaysia: 2.5G 2WD Mid, 2.5G 2WD High, 2.5G 2WD High Plus, 2.2 2WD High Plus, and 2.5G Turbo AWD High Plus. Starting prices range from RM184,000 to RM220,000. With the impending discontinuation of the Mazda CX-8, Malaysia's remaining three-row SUV options are the Toyota Innova Zenix, Kia Sorento, and Proton X90.
