Exciting EV News: Neta V Officially Launching in Malaysia on October 25 with Pricing Below RM100k!

16-Oct-2023

According to a post on Neta Auto Malaysia's Facebook page, the Neta V, which made its debut back in May, will be formally introduced in Malaysia the following week. On October 25, the all-electric product will be unveiled at Putrajaya's IOI City Mall.

With a RM10k cash refund, the Neta V's price will drop to RM89.900 when it makes its official debut. The Neta V's selling price was first advertised at RM99,800 when it was first shown back in May. Its price was listed as RM79,800 on a display card at a mall roadshow in August.

The Neta V's actual price would only be made official when the vehicle was formally introduced, according to regional distributor Intro Synergy, who claimed that the dealer had made a mistake in stating the pricing.

It will be fascinating to observe whether the Neta V's price falls below RM100,000. Technically, it shouldn't because Malaysian law prohibits the sale of imported BEVs with a floor price under RM100,000 until the end of 2025.

As stated in the ministry of investment, commerce, and industry's (MITI) guidelines on franchise authorized permit (AP) criteria for 2023, this is a requirement explicitly enforced by the government on imported EVs. We'll find out soon enough because the business can, of course, give rebates to customers to reduce the final price.

An electric engine situated up front gives the Neta V 95 PS (94 horsepower or 70 kW) and 150 Nm of torque. A top speed of 120 km/h and a 0 to 50 km/h duration of 3.9 seconds are given by the automaker. According to the NEDC standard, a ternary lithium battery from CATL with a 38.54 kWh energy capacity provides a range of 380 km.

The EV is capable of Type 2 AC charging with a maximum power of 6.6 kW, and a full charge takes eight hours. Additionally, it has a 100 kW DC fast charging (CCS2) capability that can charge a battery from 30 to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes.

Hozon Auto revealed a facelift for the Neta V in August, rebranding it as the Aya in China. A price cut was also brought on by the modest refresh.
