Chery Malaysia's Upcoming SUV Lineup: Jaecoo 7 and 8 Arriving in 2024, Omoda 9 in 2025 - MyCarSearch

In the upcoming years, Chery Malaysia will introduce more models to broaden its selection in the country. The firm announced the arrival of the Omoda 9 as well as the Jaecoo 7 and 8 during the 2023 Chery International Owner Summit in Wuhu, China.

Along with the Omoda 5 EV that has already been confirmed for 2024, these vehicles will join the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro. There is currently no information available regarding whether all three new models will be entirely imported (CBU) or domestically constructed (CKD) in Malaysia at Sime Darby's Inokom facility in Kulim, Kedah.

Chery Omoda 9

A five-seat C-segment SUV developed on the company's M3X platform, the Omoda 9 is also known as the Exeed RX (or Yaoguang). The Omoda 9's specifications, as provided to us, are as follows:

The Exeed Omoda 9 has eight airbags, automatic emergency braking, a digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Sony sound system, a big panoramic sunroof, and a motorized driver's seat. Exeed is Chery's premium business.

Chery Jaecoo 7

The next brand is Jaecoo, which is also an export brand owned by Chery. The Jaecoo 7 (also known as the Tansuo 06) is marketed for admirers of the tough SUV aesthetic and has an interior with a 14.8-inch vertical touchscreen and a distinctive lighting signature that resembles pixels. The five-seat Jaecoo 7 has the following specifications:

Engine: 1.6 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol

Chery Jaecoo 8

The Jaecoo 8, an SUV that is larger than the Omoda 9 and constructed on Chery's T1X platform, is the final vehicle in the group. In China, this model, also known as the Tiggo 9, sits atop the Tiggo 8 and comes with either two or three rows of seats.

The interior exudes a Mercedes-Benz vibe, while the exterior features a big grille and retractable door handles. AEB, 10 airbags, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 14-speaker audio system, and powered seats are among the features. Regarding the requirements, they are as follows:

The company claims it doesn't currently have any firm plans, but the Arrizo 8 is another model that is being considered. If it were to go through, the D-segment sedan would follow the aforementioned models. Small galleries of more models that Chery exports that we may as of yet be lacking are also included.
