The new Nissan Navara Black Edition has been unveiled by Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), which upgrades the existing VL and V models with stylistic additions and accessories drawn from the top-of-the-line Pro-4X.

These improvements are available as packages, costing RM14,700 for the VL and RM13,500 for the V. Both kits come with two-tone overfenders (gloss black with silver accents), front grille cladding, and gloss black side mirror caps.

The V's Black Edition package also comes with 17-inch gloss black wheels and extras from the current Premium Package, such as leather interior in favor of the stock fabric and V-Kool security film tint.






In contrast, the VL's Black Edition package contains extras from the Protection Package, such as the same V-Kool security film tint, a fuel tank guard, an oil sump guard, door sill plates, a dashcam, and door visors. Here we keep the standard 18-inch two-tone alloys from the VL.

According to Christopher Tan, director of sales and marketing at ETCM, "Ever since the PRO-4X was introduced as part of the Nissan Narava mid-life makeover, the bold yet sophisticated styling of the flagship 'Mother Trucker' has been greatly coveted by fans of the Navara."

The 2.5-liter inline-four turbodiesel YD25 engine that produces 190 PS (187 horsepower) and 450 Nm of torque, along with a seven-speed automatic transmission and a selectable four-wheel drive system, remain unchanged with the Black Edition packages for the V and VL. The remainder of the kit list is identical to a typical VL and V.


Customers who buy a Navara V or VL this month will receive an RM800 fuel card together with to the Black Edition packages free of charge, according to ETCM. The V model of the Nissan Navara currently retails for RM134,800 on-the-road without insurance (up from what was revealed back in January), while the VL costs RM146,900. When the first promotion expires, the V and VL with the Black Edition Package will cost RM148,300 and RM161,600, respectively.
