About IGEM 2016

IGEM 2016 (International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia) will look to provide a platform for the key drivers within the Malaysian Government’s Green Technology mandate.

Conceived in the year 2010, the IGEM series was positioned to take the lead and gather industry players and professionals from the public and private sectors (local & international) to explore and grasp the lucrative opportunities in the green market.

IGEM 2016 is the 6th in its series and shall continue to drive the green industry in Malaysia, as well as keeping it in sync with the most current innovations and initiatives in the market. IGEM’s ultimate goal is towards positioning Malaysia as a Green Technology Hub for the ASEAN Region.

Bearing the theme “Green Business for Sustainability”, IGEM 2016 will be focused on five key areas:

a. Green Energy

b. Green Transport

c. Green Building

d. Waste Technology & Management

e. Clean Water Technology & Management

IGEM 2015 has recorded RM1.98 billion (combined) worth of business leads. Continuing the great legacy, IGEM 2016 is expected to push the boundaries by strengthening the status of Malaysia as a Green Technology Hub for the ASEAN Region, as well as generating more green business opportunities for the country.

THE ORGANISER

Organiser: Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia (KeTTHA)

Prior to the Cabinet reshuffle on 9 April 2009, KeTTHA known as the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications (MEWC) was established on March 27, 2004 through the restructuring of the Ministry of Energy, Communications and Multimedia. KeTTHA is responsible for planning, formulating policies and programmes to lead a new initiative addressing global issues such as environmental pollution, ozone depletion, 'global warming' and issues related thereto.

Co-Organiser: Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia)

Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia) is an organisation under the purview of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), charged with catalysing green technology deployment as a strategic engine for socio-economic growth in Malaysia in line with the National Green Technology Policy 2009.

The exhibition is open to all professional, trade and business visitors only. Admission for Higher Learning Institutions will be permitted from 5 October to 8 October 2016 with prior written approval from the Organiser.
