This update documents the precision installation of Ventilator Turbines, a critical component for maintaining optimal airflow and thermal regulation in warehouse and industrial facilities.

Our engineering team followed a strict multi-step protocol to ensure structural integrity and long-term weatherproofing against the Malaysian climate.


INDUSTRIAL ROOF VENTILATOR INSTALLATION

Scope of Work: Base Flashing Integration, Turbine Assembly, and Weatherproof Sealing

1. Technical Problem Statement

Large industrial spaces often face significant heat accumulation under metal deck roofing. Without active or passive ventilation, this trapped heat can increase indoor temperatures, affect equipment performance, and reduce worker productivity. The challenge is to install high-volume ventilators while ensuring a 100% watertight seal on a corrugated metal surface.

2. Technical Execution & Work Process

To achieve a durable and efficient installation, EKG performed the following steps:

  • Flashing & Base Installation: The custom-fabricated base was prepared to provide a stable foundation for the turbine.

  • Alignment with Metal Deck: Our technicians meticulously positioned the flashing to perfectly match the profile of the metal deck roofing, ensuring a flush fit that prevents water pooling.

  • Mechanical Fastening: The flashing was fixed securely to the roof structure using industrial-grade self-tapping screws.

  • Ventilator Neck Integration: The ventilator neck was inserted into the flashing base, providing the transition point between the interior air space and the exterior turbine.

  • Turbine Assembly: The high-performance ventilator turbine was mounted onto the neck, utilizing low-friction bearings to ensure continuous rotation even in low-wind conditions.

  • Precision Weatherproofing: To guarantee a leak-free result, EKG applied high-grade industrial sealant around all screws and joints, creating a permanent barrier against moisture.


3. Project Outcome & Value Delivered

  • Thermal Regulation: The new ventilator turbines effectively exhaust hot air from the building’s upper plenum, reducing the overall cooling load on the HVAC system.

  • Durability: The use of high-quality flashing and professional-grade sealants ensures the installation remains watertight under heavy tropical rainfall.

  • Energy-Free Operation: These passive ventilation units operate without electricity, providing a sustainable and cost-effective solution for facility climate control.
