The Proton Saga, Malaysia's first national car, is celebrating its 39^th year of production with impressive momentum. In July, it hits a record high with 7,855 units sold in a single month, the highest since October 2013.

So far this year, sales have increased by 8.8%, with a total of 42,693 units sold compared to 39,251 units during the same period last year. Since its launch on July 9, 1985, the Proton Saga has sold over 2 million units, making it the most popular car from a Malaysian brand.



Proton, in collaboration from its partner Geely, is working on upgrading the Proton Saga. This initiative is supported by the new Proton R&D Centre (China), which opened in April.

Leveraging Geely’s global resources and expertise, Proton aims to enhance its models and remain competitive in the market.

In Celebration of Malaysia's National Day, Proton is running the "Saga-Merdeka Easy to Own" campaign, offering a RM500 cash rebate on any Proton Saga model this August.
