PROJECT 1: HVAC SYSTEM RESTORATION & PIPE FREEZING

Scope of Work: Cooling Coil Replacement, Butterfly Valve Installation, and Cryogenic Pipe Freezing

1. Problem Statement

The existing HVAC infrastructure at this high-occupancy corporate site showed critical signs of mechanical and thermal failure:

  • Cooling Coil: Heavy fouling and significant fin degradation were identified, which severely reduced heat transfer and increased energy draw.

  • Seized Valves: Primary isolation valves were non-functional, preventing essential maintenance without a full system shutdown.

  • Operational Constraint: The client required a solution that ensured zero building-wide downtime during the repair process.

2. Technical Execution

To meet these demanding requirements, EKG implemented a specialized engineering protocol:

  • Cryogenic Pipe Freezing: Our technicians utilized liquid nitrogen to create a localized "ice plug" within the pressurized pipeline. This allowed us to isolate the work area and replace the seized valves without draining the entire building’s chilled water system.

  • Butterfly Valve Installation: Once isolated, the old components were replaced with high-performance lug-style butterfly valves for precise flow control and future-proof maintenance.

  • Cooling Coil Replacement: The degraded, fouled coil was systematically removed and replaced with a high-efficiency unit, restoring the system's original thermal rejection capacity.


PROJECT 2: COMMERCIAL AC INSTALLATION & LOGISTICS

Scope of Work: Unit Deployment, Structural Mounting, and Precision Integration

1. Problem Statement

As part of a facility expansion, new high-capacity cooling was required to ensure consistent comfort levels for a large-scale commercial site.

2. Technical Execution

  • Secure Logistics: EKG managed the safe transport and on-site positioning of multiple high-efficiency Daikin units. Our team ensures all equipment is handled according to manufacturer standards to protect warranty integrity.

  • Precision Installation: Technicians utilized scaffolding for high-level mounting of indoor units and outdoor condensers. All refrigerant lines were integrated using high-grade Armaflex insulation to prevent energy loss and condensation issues.

  • Commissioning: Each unit was rigorously tested for proper "Head" pressure and drainage flow to ensure reliable operation under high thermal loads.


3. Project Outcomes

  • 0% Operational Interruption: Our use of cryogenic pipe-freezing technology allowed the client to maintain full business operations throughout the maintenance period.

  • Increased Efficiency: The new cooling coils and AC units are estimated to deliver a 15-20% improvement in thermal performance.
