After 38 years in Malaysia’s entertainment industry, singer Zur Eda was overjoyed to receive her first award at the FemForward 2025 event, clinching the Legendary Performer in Entertainment Industry Award.
Zur Eda Mokhtar, now 60, shared that throughout her long career since her debut album Pelitaku in 1987, she had never been formally recognized. For decades, she focused solely on her craft and livelihood, without seeking accolades.
She admitted she was initially in disbelief when notified of the honor just two weeks before the event. The award, coming at the twilight of her career and close to her milestone 60th birthday in August, left her feeling immensely grateful—as though she had been seen and valued at last .
The accolade was bestowed during the FemForward 2025 ceremony at M /World Hotel, Damansara, held in conjunction with both International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day. The event featured notable guests, including Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Chairperson of HAWA Malaysia.
