*Only accepted for fall admission in September each year.


III. Registration Requirements
1. Health status
Physically and mentally healthy (no infectious diseases and no physical or mental illness that affects normal learning).
2. Age requirements
As of September 1, 2026, applicants must be no older than 23 years old.
3. Educational requirements
Applicants must have obtained a high school diploma by September 1, 2026.
4. Learning ability
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic ability and performance. Undergraduate program applicants must achieve a score of 75% in the previous application period. The school considers scores from internationally recognized standardized tests such as the SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB/GED, or regional high school entrance exams . Applicants may also provide other evidence of their academic ability or performance.
Applicants must submit the China Undergraduate Admissions Academic Test (CSCA) scores before May 20, 2026. The test subjects are:

5. Language requirements

Applicants must possess Chinese and English language proficiency that meets the admission requirements. Some countries may be exempt from proving English proficiency (information for countries where English is the native language). Language proficiency requirements for applicants from other countries are as follows:

6. Nationality requirements
Applicants must be non-PRC citizens holding a valid passport. Foreign applicants of Chinese descent studying in China must have obtained foreign nationality and renounced their Chinese nationality before April 30, 2022, and have a record of actual residence abroad for at least two years between April 30, 2022, and April 30, 2026. (Actual residence abroad for nine months in a year will be counted as one year, based on entry and exit stamps.)
If one or both of the applicant's parents are Chinese citizens, the applicant must provide the following supporting documents (choose one):
(1) Proof of the applicant’s acquisition of foreign nationality at birth;
(2) If the applicant was originally a Chinese citizen and later acquired foreign nationality, he/she shall provide proof of cancellation of original Chinese household registration and proof of renunciation of Chinese nationality.


IV. Application Materials
1. A valid and clear scan of the passport information page
Passports must be valid until at least October 30, 2026 and beyond .Applicants currently residing in mainland China must also provide a current valid visa or residence permit page.Scanned copy;
2. Scanned copy of high school diploma
If the applicant is a student, he/she must submit a certificate of enrollment issued by his/her school including the expected graduation date, and submit the graduation certificate before registration.
3. Scanned copies of high school transcripts for each semester/year
If the applicant has not yet completed the previous period of study, he/she must provide transcripts for all semesters up to the time of application.
4. Personal statement (template) and resume
5. Academic proficiency test scores for undergraduate admission to China or a letter of commitment with registration date submission deadline is May 20, 2026 )
6. Scanned copy of Chinese/English language proficiency certificate

Applicants who meet the following conditions do not need to provide language proficiency certification:
Applicants whose native language is Chinese should apply for Chinese-taught programs;
Applicants whose native language is English should apply for English-taught programs.
7. Scanned copy of the certificate of no criminal record (valid for 6 months)
If you currently reside in mainland China, you must submit both a criminal record certificate from your home country and a criminal record certificate from your stay in China;
If you are unable to provide a criminal record certificate due to various special circumstances, please fill out the "Personal Commitment Letter". After being proposed for admission, you must submit the criminal record certificate as soon as possible. Only after submitting it will you be eligible for admission.
8. Scanned copies of officially certified awards and scientific research achievements (optional)
9. Scanned copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" (valid for 6 months)
Those who currently reside in mainland China and hold a valid "Foreigner Residence Permit" or "Foreigner Permanent Residence Identity Card" can use any of the above documents instead of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form".
10. As of November 1, 2026, applicants under the age of 18 must provide a Minor Guarantee Letter (Template) .
11. Bank statements of the applicant or his/her parents’ account for the past 6 months (with a balance of no less than US,000).
12. Other supplementary materials required by Northwestern Polytechnical University.
    Remark:
*All the above documents must be in English or Chinese. Documents in other languages must be submitted with notarized English or Chinese translations.


V. Application Process
Step 1 -  Prepare your application materials
Applicants must prepare application materials as required.
Step 2Complete the online application
Log in to the Northwestern Polytechnical University online application system to complete the application (Contact E-Square to create account).
1. The online application system is the only valid application platform. Upon completing your application, you must pay the application fee (600 RMB). Failure to pay the application fee will render your application invalid. Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable.
2. The email address used to register for the online application system must be a valid email address . The Admissions Office will use this email address to send application results and notifications.
3. All application materials must be submitted before the deadline. Late applications will not be processed.
Step 3 - Review of application materials
1. The Admissions Office will review the completeness and authenticity of the materials.
2. The college will review the applicant's academic ability, which usually takes 10 working days. Applicants who pass the review will enter the re-examination.
3. Applicants must promptly monitor changes in the application system review status and their personal email address, and complete relevant information or supplement relevant materials based on application review feedback.
Step 4-Enter the re-examination
1. Applicants who qualify for the re-examination will receive an email with details about the re-examination method, content, and time, and are required to attend the re-examination on time according to the requirements.
2. The Admissions Office will announce the results of the re-examination via email one week after the re-examination.
Step 5- Pay the pre-registration fee or tuition fee
Pre-admitted students must pay the corresponding fees on time to receive full admission. First and second-place students must pay a pre-registration fee of RMB 3,000; third-place and self-funded students must pay 50% of tuition in advance. The pre-registration fee will be refunded between November and December of the year the student registers.
Payment method:
1. Online Payment
Applicants pay the fee within the online application system.
2. Offline bank or online bank remittance
After completing the pre-registration fee payment, the applicant should upload the remittance receipt in the application system. When transferring money, please be sure to note the applicant's passport number.


Step 6-Issuance of admission materials
After payment is confirmed, the Admissions Office will prepare an official "Admission Notice" and send it to the student's email address. Students must log in to the "Visa Assistant" section of the Study in China website to download the "Confirmation Form for Foreign Students Coming to China" and the JW202 electronic certificate.


Step 7-Complete registration
1. Registration is generally between late August and early September 2026. The specific time is subject to the Admission Notice. Failure to register without prior approval will be deemed a waiver of admission and scholarship eligibility. Early registration is generally not permitted.
2. Admitted students should bring their ordinary passport, Admission Notice, and Confirmation Form for Foreign Students to China to apply for an entry study visa (X1) at the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad and report to Northwestern Polytechnical University at the time specified in the admission notice.
3. The following documents must be provided upon registration :

Remark:
1. All the above documents must be in English or Chinese. Documents in other languages must be accompanied by notarized English or Chinese translations.
2. Applicants who cannot provide the required documents or whose original documents do not match the scanned documents provided during application will be disqualified from admission.
3. If the information in the physical examination record is inconsistent with the applicant's actual health condition, the applicant will be disqualified from admission .

2. Scholarship Results
(1) The school will review students’ scholarship applications in batches according to the order in which they apply. The scholarship results will be notified via the registered email address in the application system.
(2) Scholarship applicants cannot concurrently receive other scholarships funded by Chinese governments and universities at all levels.
(3) Scholarship students are generally not allowed to change their academic information, including the institution, level of study, major, language of instruction, and duration of study, after admission . If a change is necessary due to special circumstances, the student must submit an application for change of academic information. After review and approval by the institution and the School of International Education, the application will be submitted to the higher authorities for approval.
