About NJUST

Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST) is a high-level research university in China, committed to cultivating top innovative talents with global competitiveness. In 2017, the university was selected for China’s “Double First-Class” initiative and designated disciplines. Currently, 11 disciplines at NJUST are ranked in the top 1% of the ESI global subject rankings, with Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Computer Science ranking in the top 0.1%. Additionally, 10 disciplines are included in Jiangsu Province's Key Discipline Development Project and have achieved outstanding results in global rankings such as ESI, US News, and QS. NJUST currently hosts over 800 international students from nearly 90 countries and regions.

The undergraduate program usually lasts four years. Graduates from Chinese-taught programs are expected to achieve HSK Level 5, while those from English-taught programs should reach at least HSK Level 4.

1. Application Requirements

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health, possess a solid academic background, comply with Chinese laws and university regulations, and respect local customs and traditions.

2. Language proficiency requirements:

• English-taught programs: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 80, Duolingo 90, or equivalent

• Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or above

3. Education and age requirement: High school graduate, under 26 years old

2. Application Materials

1. Passport: Passport information page (valid for more than 12 months)

2. Academic Certificate: Notarized highest diploma; if the applicant is graduating soon, a pre-graduation or enrollment certificate is required

3. Transcripts: Official high school transcripts with school seal. If not in Chinese or English, notarized English translations must be provided

4. Language proficiency certificate: Valid language test results within the last two years (HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo)

5. Personal statement: Over 800 words describing study motivations and program choices (in Chinese or English)

6. Recommendation letters: Two letters from high school teachers explaining their relationship with the applicant

7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form: A copy is required (original should be kept). This form must be completed in English and conform to the health check requirements. Incomplete forms or forms without photos, stamps, or signatures will be considered invalid. Validity: 6 months

8. Non-criminal record: Issued by the local police department within 6 months before application

9. Financial support documents: Proof of financial capability (e.g., income statements of parents/guardians, bank statements, or financial guarantee letter)

10. Other documents: Such as award certificates or talent-related documents

Important notes:

• All application documents must be original scanned copies. Non-Chinese/English documents require notarized translations

• NJUST reserves the right to request additional documents

• Original documents must be presented at registration

3. Application Process

2. Qualification review: Verify completeness and authenticity of documents

3. Expert evaluation: Online interview + academic evaluation

4. Result announcement: Pre-admission results will be published on the official website

5. Admission: Admission Letter and JW202 Form will be sent by email in early August. Please confirm your acceptance promptly

Important dates:

• December 30, 2024: Application system opens

• June 15, 2025: Application deadline

• June–July 2025: Document review and evaluation

• August 2025: Admission results published

• Early September 2025: Registration

4. Fees

1. Tuition:

• Chinese-taught undergraduate programs: 18,000 RMB/year (approx. USD 2,500/year)

• English-taught undergraduate programs: 19,800 RMB/year (approx. USD 2,700/year)

2. Accommodation: 4,000 RMB/year (quad room on main campus)

3. Other expenses:

• Electricity: about 1,000 RMB/year

• Textbooks: about 1,000 RMB/year

• Meals: about 10,000 RMB/year

• Visa: at least 400 RMB/year

• Medical check-up: about 538 RMB

4. Application fee: 500 RMB or 80 USD (non-refundable, paid by bank transfer)
