Tianjin University currently offers 67 undergraduate programs. The duration of study is 4 years, except for the Architecture program, which lasts 5 years. Among them, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Environmental Engineering, and Pharmacy can be taught in English (Pharmacy is available only in English).
Students who complete the required curriculum, pass all examinations, and successfully defend their graduation thesis will be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree Certificate. Those who meet the degree assessment requirements will be conferred the Bachelor’s Degree.

All Chinese-taught undergraduate students must reach Level 5 of the International Chinese Language Proficiency Standard before graduation.

1. Application Eligibility

Nationality
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens. Those who were formerly Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality must comply with the regulations in Document No.12 [2020] issued by the Ministry of Education of China. -
Age and Education
Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old, and high school graduates.
Applicants under 18 years old as of September 1, 2026 must submit an original notarized guardian certificate issued by a notary office in Tianjin. The guardian must be a Tianjin resident with permanent household registration.
Applicants should be of good moral character, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to abide by Chinese laws and Tianjin University regulations. -

IELTS ≥ 6.0 or TOEFL ≥ 80.

Applicants from native English-speaking countries may be exempted.

Applicants whose native language is Chinese or who have completed high school education in Chinese may be exempted from submitting HSK results (subject to university approval).

Graduating students may submit an expected graduation letter; the actual certificate must be provided after admission. -
Scanned copy of high school transcripts (or notarized copies); alternatively, recognized standardized test results (e.g. SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB).

Scanned copy of CSCA test results (China Scholastic Competency Assessment).

Scanned copy of passport information page (valid beyond September 1, 2026).

4. Application & Admission Process
Step 1: Take the CSCA Test
All international applicants for undergraduate programs must participate in the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) organized by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

Important Tip:
Take the CSCA test as early as possible and submit scores promptly to allow time for review.

The CSCA score is an important quantitative measure of academic capability — please prepare seriously.
Step 2: Online Application Submission
Log in to the Tianjin University International Student Application System: (Contact E-Square)
Register, complete the form, and upload all required materials within the application period.
Step 3: Interview
Qualified applicants will be invited for an interview to assess overall ability and Chinese language proficiency.
Step 4: Admission Result & Fee Payment
Admitted students (excluding Chinese Government Scholarship recipients) must pay a deposit of RMB 7,000 and a registration fee of RMB 420 within the specified period.
Upon receiving the payment, Tianjin University will issue an electronic Admission Notice and a Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) in July.
Please note: the deposit and registration fee are non-refundable under any circumstances.
5. Scholarships

Chinese Government Scholarship (Type A) (Chinese-taught programs only)
Applicants should apply through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home country and list Tianjin University as their first-choice university on the scholarship application form.
The application period is generally November to February.
It is recommended to apply after receiving a pre-admission letter from Tianjin University.
