LEV (local exhaust ventilation) is a system to transfer the heat, fume, gas to outdoor environment by compliance to DOE requirements (air pollution act 2014 rules and regulations) with documents submittion reports created by DOE consultant with PE endorsement and approved by DOE department.
Key Elements:
Hood: Positioned close to the source of contaminants, the hood captures pollutants before they disperse into the workspace.
Ductwork: Channels the captured air from the hood to the exhaust point, designed to minimize air resistance and ensure efficient airflow.
Air Cleaner (Filter): Removes hazardous particles and gases from the captured air before it is released outside or recirculated.
Fan: Provides the necessary suction to draw contaminated air through the system, ensuring effective ventilation.
Exhaust Stack: The exit point where cleaned air is expelled from the building, usually positioned to prevent re-entry of contaminants.
Control System: Regulates the airflow and monitors the system’s performance to ensure optimal operation.
Maintenance Access Points: Strategically placed openings for easy inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of the system components.
Sound Attenuation: Noise reduction features to ensure the system operates quietly without disturbing the work environment.
Fire Suppression System: Optional safety feature that activates in case of a fire, protecting the system and the workspace.
These components work together to provide an effective and efficient local exhaust ventilation system, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by removing contaminants at the source.
