Failure to display the company name and registration number will result in penalties.
According to Section 30(1) and 30(2) of the Company Act 2016, those who violate this regulation may be subject to a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years, or both.
Places where the company name and registration number must be displayed:
- Registered Office
- Business Carried On
- Place book are kept
- Letterhead
- Websites
- Bills of exchange, promissory notes, endorsement and order forms
- Cheques
- Orders, invoices, and other demand for payments, receipts, and letters of credit
- All other forms of its business correspondence and documents
Note: If the company changes its name under Sections 28 and 29 of the CA 2016,
the previous name of the company should appear under
the latest registered name for a period not less than 12 months from the date of change.
