The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has completed inspections on 2,282 RON95 petrol pumps across 584 petrol stations nationwide from November 3 to 9. The checks covered major brands, mini stations, and unbranded mini stations. The ministry reported zero non-compliance, confirming that all pumps dispensed accurate fuel quantities.

According to KPDN, the operation aimed to ensure that all petrol pumps had valid verification certifications and that no manipulation or technical discrepancies were present. Throughout the inspection period, no cases were found where RON95 dispensing fell below the allowable measurement error.

KPDN stated that it will continue conducting periodic inspections and will take firm action if any manipulation or non-compliance is detected. Under the Weights and Measures Act 1972 (Section 16), offenders may face fines of up to RM40,000, imprisonment of up to three years, or both. Any tampered equipment is also subject to forfeiture.

As part of the verification process, KPDN officers pump 10 litres of fuel into a calibrated measuring device. Pumps are considered accurate if the reading falls within the permitted tolerance range of –25 ml to +50 ml.

KPDN also reiterated that claims circulating about deteriorating RON95 fuel quality or quantity following the Budi95 initiative are untrue. All pumps inspected were found to comply with required standards.
