Chery Malaysia has confirmed that the Chery O5, the facelifted version of the Omoda 5, will officially debut in Malaysia on September 10, 2025. To celebrate, a launch roadshow will be held at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, right at Kuala Lumpur’s busiest pedestrian crossing – often referred to as the city’s own “Shibuya scramble.” Visually, the O5 takes on a cleaner and more mature look, with a redesigned grille, black wheels, and the removal of the bold red highlights from the previous model. Inside, it continues with a modern layout featuring twin screens, wireless smartphone connectivity, and premium comfort features, while safety is supported by advanced driver assistance systems. Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a new dual-clutch transmission, while the suspension has been upgraded for better ride and handling. These changes bring the O5 in line with global versions launched in markets like Indonesia and Russia. Pricing will be closely watched, as the outgoing Omoda 5 started fromRM108,800, and the O5 enters a competitive segment dominated by rivals such as the Proton X50. With its refreshed design and enhanced features, the O5 aims to make a strong impression when it goes on display at Lot 10 this September 10.
