The finance ministry has announced the retail fuel prices for the week of August 22 to 28, 2024, indicating another adjustment for diesel fuel in Peninsular Malaysia.
This week, the price of diesel drops again. The Euro 5 B10 and B20 diesel blends will drop by two sen to RM3.23 per litre, down from RM3.25 per litre last week. This new rate is lower than the RM3.35 per litre price set since June 10, when the subsidy rationalisation program for diesel in Peninsular Malaysia began.
The Euro 5 B7 blend remains 20 sen higher, at RM3.43 per litre. In East Malaysia, diesel prices remain unchange, with RM2.15 per litre and RM2.35 per litre for different blends. Petrol prices also stay the same, with RON 97 priced at RM3.47 per litre and RON 95 at its current ceiling price of RM2.05 per litre.
These prices will be effective from today until August 28, 2024, when the next update will be announced. This update marks the 34th weekly fuel price announcement of the year and the 293rd since the format was introduced in early 2019.
