Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, the official dealer of Ford cars in Malaysia, has launched a special version of the new Ranger truck called the Stormtrak. It's designed for people who love a sporty look. It costs RM181,888 without insurance and they're only making 200 of them

The Stormtrak was revealed for the first time in the region at the 2023 Bangkok Motor Show. It's positioned higher than the Ranger Wildtrak but lower than premium versions like the Platinum and Raptor. It borrows certain design cues and features from these higher-end models.
The Ranger Stormtrak's outside look is bold and lively, especially with its main color, Sedona Orange. But what really grabs attention, regardless of the body color, are the Race Red accents on its front bumper. These accents are accompanied by new extra lights on the Ranger, making it stand out even more.

The Race Red accents also appear on the 20-inch alloy wheels. These wheels have a design and spoke pattern similar to the 18-inch wheels of the Wildtrak. However, on the Stormtrak, they're coated in an Asphalt Black matte finish and come with Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires.
There are also matte black striped decals on the load box, body sides, and doors. The truck also comes with a flexible sports bar, like the one found in the Ranger Platinum. This bar makes it easier to mount long items on the roof because it slides and works with adjustable roof rails.

Mechanically, there are no differences here the powertrain is the same as the Wildtrak, XLT, and Platinum models. It has a 2.0-liter bi-turbo EcoBlue diesel engine under the hood, producing 210PS and 500Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, sending power to either the rear wheels (2WD) or through a part-time 4x4 system with electronic shift-on-the-fly capability.
Inside the Ranger Stormtrak, you'll find leather seats with Miko suede inserts. There are also red accents on the stitching, instrument cluster hood, steering wheel, and gear selector. Speaking of which, the gear selector now has an E-shifter design, just like the one in the Ranger Platinum.

Additionally, the Ranger Stormtrak includes the same tech features found in other Ranger models. These features include a built-in wireless charger, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a vertically-oriented 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display. It also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Stormtrak also gets a 360-degree camera system and other helpful safety features. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning & Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Reverse Brake Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
