"Ministry of Transport (MOT) through the Road Transport Department (JPJ) is set to offer Special Registration Numbers (NPI) through the JPJ eBid online platform. These NPIs will be part of the GOLD series, symbolizing the celebration of the 50th Federal Territories Day.
The public can start bidding for this GOLD series from midnight on February 1, 2024, and the bidding will remain open for five days. Bidding will conclude at 10 p.m. on February 5, and the results will be announced a day after the bidding closes, on February 6, 2024. The entire process is now conducted online, and bidders will receive notifications via email, conveying either good or bad news.
To participate in the bidding, JPJ has set minimum prices for each category, namely RM20,000 for Premium Value Numbers (Golden), RM3,000 for Attractive Numbers, RM800 for Popular Numbers, and RM300 for Regular Numbers. This means that bidders are welcome to bid as much as RM1 million to secure any desired number from this GOLD series."
According to the JPJ, any successfully bid registration number must be registered to a vehicle within 12 months from the date of the official bid result letter.
Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke, stated that the offering of Special Registration Numbers (NPI) in the GOLD series is an initiative by the ministry to realize the government's commitment to implementing various initiatives under the ministry, such as assistance with driving licenses, helmet subsidies, and FlySISWA subsid
