Proton's sales fell by 1,725 units in September compared to August, and its total industry volume (TIV) fell below the 70,000 unit mark. The national automaker's sales growth, nevertheless, is still more than 3.7% higher than the industry as a whole. Its market share, which is currently at 20.5%, or 0.7% greater than the previous year, continues to be higher than its forecast for 2022.

The Proton X50 sold 2,210 vehicles in total during the month of September. Despite losing the title of most popular SUV in Malaysia to the A-segment Perodua Ativa, this still holds the top spot for B-segment SUV sales.
With a total of 367 units sold in September, Proton's long-running MPV, the Exora, continued to lead sales in its market class. As the Exora nears the end of its production run, this results in a total of 3,517 units being sold this year.

The Proton Saga has also maintained its position as Malaysia's best-selling A-segment sedan and second-most-popular car. A total of 5,648 sedans have been sold in September, bringing its YTD total to 51,484 units, or a 26.48% increase over the prior year.
Moving on, Proton's C-segment SUV, the Proton X70, sold 779 vehicles in total for the month, bringing its YTD total to 8,778 vehicles. It now ranks second overall in the C-segment SUV market, marking its comeback.

With a total of 2,053 units sold, the Proton Persona finished the month as the second best-selling vehicle in the B-segment sedan market. However, with a total of 18,614 units sold, it continues to lead the year-to-date (YTD) rankings. that is 72.6% more than the previous year.
With a total of 682 vehicles sold in September, Proton saw an even greater growth in Proton Iriz sales compared to the previous month. This adds to its YTD total of 6,044 units, which is an increase of 44.8%.

The Proton X90 has received a service update from the automaker. As a result, updates are currently being made to all Proton X90 vehicles currently in service with customers as well as those that are still being produced.
This resulted in a slight production delay, and 491 X90 units were delivered in September. The Proton X90 has sold 3,434 vehicles since its launch in April, maintaining its position as the market leader in sales of D-segment SUVs.
