The 2023 Toyota Vios crash test results have just been made public. The B-segment sedan tested at the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) PC3 test lab, which is located in the state of Melaka, managed to receive a complete 5-star rating with a weighted average score of 78.7%.

According to the crash test results for the 2023 Toyota Vios, the vehicle scored 28.2/32 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). The B-segmenter received scores of 7.8 for the head protection technology (HPT) test, 14.56/16 for the front impact test, and 6.64/8 for the side impact test in this pillar.






The 2023 Toyota Vios received a total of 42.43/51 points for its performance in the COP (Child Occupant Protection) pillar. Its flawless results of 16/16 in the frontal impact test and 8/8 in the side impact test both contributed to this. Both test subjects were seated in Joyson Safety i-Size MIDI child safety seats with their backs to the rear during the crash test.

The 2023 Toyota Vios received scores of 16.88/21 for the Safety Assist (SA) pillar and 8.58/16 for Motorcycle Safety (MS). This adds up to a weighted overall score of 78.70% and a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.






In terms of safety, Toyota provided its DNGA-based B-segment fighter six airbags as standard equipment, along with the company's Toyota Safety Sense enhanced safety suite. This comprises common features like the pre-collision system (PCS), lane departure warning (LDW), lane departure prevention (LDP), front departure alert (FDA), and pedal misoperation control (PMC).

The 2023 Toyota Vios is also equipped with the 3D panoramic vision monitor, blind spot monitor (BSM), rear cross-traffic warning (RCTA), front digital video recorder with smartphone connectivity, brake assist (BA), hill start assist (HSA), along with 2 front and 4 rear parking sensors. If you choose the top-spec G model, you will also get lane-keeping control (LKC), auto high beam (AHB), and adaptive cruise control (ACC).






Customers can also choose the rear digital video recorder option for more peace of mind. The base 2023 Toyota Vios E costs RM89,600 in Malaysia, while the top-tier model is RM95,500. Both fees are for on-the-road, uninsured use.
