As with the F48 model, which was the second generation of the X1, the U11 model, which is the most recent, is also domestically assembled (CKD) at Kulim, Kedah. With a price starting at RM272,370 (or RM285,800 with the extended warranty and service package), the petrol-powered X1 joins its completely electric sibling, the iX1 xDrive30 M Sport, in the local lineup.

A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine producing 204 PS (201 horsepower or 150 kW) and 300 Nm of torque powers the X1 sDrive20i xLine. Drive is sent to the front wheels with a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, allowing for a 7.6-second 0–100 km/h time and a maximum speed of 236 km/h.
The CKD X1 comes standard with the xLine style package, which consists of satin aluminum exterior trim, a Pearl Chrome grille with high-gloss black slats, and rugged-looking bumpers with an underride protection plate.

Based on BMW Operating System 8, the infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and ConnectedDrive services. The Driving and Parking Assistant packages are included with the X1 sDrive20i xLine when it comes to driver assistance systems. These comprise active park distance control, lane departure and change warning, pedestrian and collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, speed limit information, reversing assistance, lateral parking aid, and a rearview camera .
But you won't get adaptive cruise control because that comes only with the Driving Assistant Plus package, which comes with the iX1 along with other goodies. For the RM33,470 premium (or RM26,000 with the extended service and warranty package) it commands over the petrol-powered X1, the all-electric edition also boasts more power from its dual-motor, all-wheel drive engine.
