Presenting the updated fourth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe, it is currently on display at the paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) 2023, marking its public premiere in Malaysia. The locally built SUV will be available for purchase here in hybrid and diesel configurations. Although a price has not yet been disclosed, more information is anticipated to become available as the vehicle approaches its launch.


For the local market, three models will be offered: the Hybrid Plus, Hybrid Max, and Diesel Max. The 1.6-liter Gamma II T-GDI petrol engine in both hybrid versions produces 180 PS and 265 Nm of torque, while the 44.2 kW electric motor provides 230 PS and 350 Nm of system output. An automated transmission with six speeds transfers power to the front wheels.



The Diesel Max is equipped with a 2.2-liter CRDi diesel engine that generates 199 horsepower (202 PS) and 440 Nm of torque. The automaker's eight-speed wet DCT and HTRAC all-wheel drive technology distribute power to all four wheels.

Though wheel sizes vary, all versions have bi-function LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and LED tail lamps. 235/65 profile tires and 17-inch alloy wheels are included with the Hybrid Plus, while 235/55 tires and 19-inch wheels are included with the Hybrid Max. 20-inch wheels with 255/45 rubbers are used by the Diesel Max.

The Hybrid Plus is equipped with cloth upholstery, powered front seats, and a Supervision 4.25-inch TFT LCD for the instrument cluster. With leather seats, a completely digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, a motorized tailgate, and roof rails, the Hybrid Max and Diesel Max up the ante on luxury. The driver's seat memory and heated/ventilated front seats are new features of the Hybrid Max.


All models come equipped with an eight-inch touch-screen featuring wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and voice recognition, a six-speaker audio system, auto wipers, dual-zone air conditioning with rear AC vents, smart key entry with push-start functionality, remote start capability, paddle shifters, an electrochromic rearview mirror, and wireless phone charging installed as standard.

Along with the entire Hyundai SmartSense safety suite, all Santa Fe facelift models include six airbags and the standard array of safety features (ESC, hill-start assist, downhill brake control, etc.). Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, Meteor Grey, and Stormy Sea are the available colors for this SUV.
