Dental Extraction

-    Dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. The reasons for a dental extraction vary, but it is usually the result of a tooth being severely decayed, fractured, or impacted.

Then, the dentist will use special instruments to loosen the tooth and gently remove it. 
 

-    After the dental extraction, it is important for the patient to follow the dentist’s instructions for recovery. This may include taking medications, rinsing with an antiseptic, or eating soft foods. The dentist may also recommend that the patient use ice packs on the outside of the mouth to reduce swelling.
