Safety partitions are fundamental to creating a safe robot work cell, serving as a critical barrier between human operators and the potentially hazardous movements of industrial robots. Their primary purpose is to protect personnel from injuries that could result from contact with moving robot arms, end-of-arm tooling, payloads, or ejected debris.Our partitions address the 3 main safety requirements for the use of robotic systems in the workplace:
Preventing Access: Create a physical enclosure around the robot's operating space, preventing unauthorized entry by personnel during automatic operation. This ensures that no one can accidentally step into the robot's path or reach into hazardous areas.
Defining Safe Zones: Partitions clearly delineate the robot's work envelope (the maximum area the robot can reach), making it easy for workers to identify safe walkways and areas where they should not be.
Containment of Hazards: In applications like welding, grinding, or machining, partitions can also contain sparks, flying debris, glare (e.g., arc glare shields for welding), or other process-related hazards, protecting workers outside the cell.
