Highest pork price in history

Chinese people love to eat meat, and a feast is not complete without meat. The common people are food lovers, and most Chinese people cannot live without pork! Think about the Chinese New Year not long ago; taro braised pork, braised pork feet in vinegar, barbecued pork, roasted pork... not to mention pork jerky, hey; but the price of pork is rising steadily, and consumers are complaining while buying, unwillingly and unwillingly, and complaining a lot.

The price of pork in Kota Kinabalu has skyrocketed five times in just half a year, setting the highest pork price in history, with an increase of more than 50%, which makes people sigh that they can't afford it;

DAP Luyang State Assemblyman Feng Jinzhe has asked the minister to intervene in the state assembly in March, but the government has not done anything so far, which makes people feel dissatisfied and disappointed.

The price of pork in Kota Kinabalu will rise for the fifth time in 2022 tomorrow, and is expected to rise to between RM24 and RM38-40 per kilogram.

Feng Jinzhe asked the government to control the price of pork, or consider listing it as a controlled product, setting a ceiling price, or subsidizing the operating costs of farms from the source, etc.

He said: "For example, the government can provide subsidies and incentives to encourage local businesses to actively develop the feed production industry and reduce dependence on imported feed at a time when transportation costs are skyrocketing.

"In addition to benefiting pig farmers, this can also create more employment opportunities for locals. This is a strategy to come up with a solution. In short, the government must take action instead of letting prices rise again and again."

The price of all commodities is rising, and it is not just the price of pork that is soaring today. The prices of many pork products will also rise accordingly. In this case, the people will suffer in the end. (012)
