李衍旺日前在推介礼上致词时说，由于学校是黑斑蚊滋长的风险区之一，因此校方必须严正看待此事，避免黑斑蚊肆虐，对学生构成危险。
他透露，黑斑蚊叮咬高峰期是清晨5至7时及傍晚5至8时，正是学生上下课的时候，因此学生是最直接成为黑斑蚊肆虐的受害者。
对此，他吁请州内各校董家教理事，可响应此灭蚊计划，让学生可在更卫生安全的环境下学习。
