Disease Detection: Ability to screen for and detect ocular pathologies such as Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Cataracts. Myopia Management: Strong clinical knowledge of current control methods, including specialty lenses and Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) fitting. Pediatric Optometry: Skills in managing vision care for children, which is a high-growth area in the Malaysian market. Diagnostic Equipment: Mastery of tools like the Fundus Camera, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and Visual Field (Perimetry) machines. Specialty Contact Lenses: Experience fitting RGP, Scleral lenses, or multifocal contact lenses. Bilingual Communication: Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is standard. Given the local market, proficiency in Mandarin is often a major competitive advantage for patient consultations.
