KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): Vantage Data Centers has completed the final facility in its four-building, six-acre Cyberjaya data centre campus, bringing the last 16-megawatt (MW) facility online. This marks the completion of the company’s first campus in the city, one of three campuses it currently operates in Malaysia.
The new Cyberjaya data centre is fully leased to a single customer, and the first campus offers a total of 31MW of critical IT load, referring to power dedicated solely to essential IT equipment.
Globally, Vantage operates 41 hyperscale data centre campuses with 8.7 gigawatts (GW) of IT capacity, including 1GW in the Asia Pacific region.
“Malaysia has become Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing data centre hub. Vantage is expanding our footprint to meet rising customer demand, including the ongoing development of a second Cyberjaya campus with over 400MW of total capacity. We are committed to providing sustainable digital infrastructure to accelerate Malaysia’s digitalisation and contribute to economic growth,” said Jeremy Deutsch, Vantage Data Centers Asia Pacific president.
The company has also acquired a hyperscale campus in Johor Bahru featuring three data centres on 73 acres—roughly the size of 40 football fields—with 300MW of critical IT load.
Significance for Malaysia’s Property and Industrial Landscape
The expansion of hyperscale data centres in Cyberjaya and Johor underscores Malaysia’s growing importance in digital infrastructure and industrial property. These developments are driving demand for industrial land in Selangor, supporting the growth of factories in Puchong, and complementing nearby office space in Bukit Jalil and commercial property in KL, as the country positions itself as a regional hub for technology and data services.
