Desa ParkCity has once again illuminated The Waterfront with its annual Year-End Light Festival, drawing visitors to the lakeside for a nightly visual spectacle running from 7pm to 10.30pm until Jan 4, 2026. The event has become a signature attraction for the township, blending artistry, storytelling and community engagement.
This year’s edition introduces a captivating theme built around eight narratives, presented through light-based installations that transform the lakeside into a poetic, immersive experience. Desa ParkCity describes the festival as “a world where light becomes both art form and storyteller,” with each installation carrying meaning and symbolism:
-
Butterflies on the Lake — Representing transformation and the evolving hopes of a growing community
-
Bamboo Grove — A gentle balance between cultural heritage and modernity
-
Crystal Trees — A vibrant celebration of diversity through shifting colours
-
Moonlit Blossom — A graceful path symbolising renewal and optimism
-
Fairy Oak — A whimsical corner that rekindles childlike wonder
-
Midnight Garden — A calming installation inspired by nature’s resilience
-
Arctic Nature — A thought-provoking piece by ISPKL reflecting environmental change and shared responsibility
-
Luminous Wings — A symbolic gateway previewing Desa ParkCity’s upcoming new township in Petaling Jaya
This year’s festival is presented in partnership with BYD and Denza, serving as the official automotive partners, and RHB Bank, the official banking partner. Visitors can also participate in the “Adopt a Plant” pledge, encouraging personal commitment to greener living. At the same time, the event showcases clean-energy mobility solutions, highlighting how electric vehicles can contribute to reducing carbon emissions and supporting global cooling efforts.
RHB Bank’s group community banking managing director Jeffrey Ng Eow Oo said the partnership aligns with the bank’s mission to support experiences that enrich and connect communities. He noted that the festival’s theme of transformation mirrors RHB’s efforts to help customers navigate life’s changing moments, whether through the RHB Multi Currency Debit Card/-i — supporting 34 currencies — or through tailored financial solutions.
The annual light festival also reflects the broader growth of the surrounding property landscape, where lifestyle-centric developments continue to complement rising demand across Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. This trend extends into Malaysia’s wider real estate market, including high-value segments such as commercial property in KL, expanding business hubs seeking office space in Bukit Jalil, and thriving industrial zones where enquiries for industrial land in Selangor, factories in Puchong, and industrial property in the Subang area continue to increase.
