IJM Land Bhd has announced plans to bring premium supermarket chain Village Grocer to Seremban 2, with the new outlet scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2027. The RM25 million investment further elevates the township’s appeal as it celebrates its 30th year as a well-established, master-planned community.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, IJM Land chief operating officer Datuk Chai Kian Soon shared that the development aligns with the company’s long-term vision for Seremban 2. “Our goal has always been to create a township where families enjoy convenience, where businesses can grow confidently, and where communities can flourish. The introduction of Village Grocer reinforces this vision by raising the quality of daily living and strengthening the township’s offerings,” he said.
The supermarket will occupy a 1.9-acre plot and feature 26,240 sq ft of built-up space, supported by 100 dedicated parking bays. Construction officially commenced this month, marking another milestone for the township.
Positioned as a lifestyle anchor, the upcoming Village Grocer outlet will carry fresh produce, specialty gourmet selections, organic items and a curated range of imported goods. TFP Retail Sdn Bhd group executive director Ivan Tan noted that the brand is committed to delivering quality and convenience to the community. “This new store allows us to be part of everyday life in Seremban 2 while supporting local suppliers and adding vibrancy to the township,” he said.
The outlet is expected to serve more than 62,000 residents in Seremban 2. Beyond retail convenience, the project is anticipated to create 90 to 150 direct jobs, along with 150 to 300 additional employment opportunities through upstream supply chain activities.
Chai also highlighted that the new supermarket will complement surrounding developments, including IKON Residences, which is set to become the tallest residential tower in Seremban 2.
As growth continues across Negeri Sembilan and the broader Klang Valley region, such developments reflect the strong momentum in Malaysia’s evolving property landscape — a trend also seen in key real estate hotspots like industrial land in Selangor, emerging business hubs offering office space in Bukit Jalil, expanding industrial zones with factories in Puchong, rising demand for industrial property in the Subang area, and ongoing interest in well-located commercial property in KL.
