What Is the Autopass Card?

How to Apply for a New Autopass Card

Eligibility & Requirements:

• Vehicle must be foreign-registered (e.g., Malaysia, Thailand, or elsewhere).

• Required documents include:

  • Vehicle registration certificate (with clear photos of the vehicle from all sides)

  • Valid vehicle insurance (Singapore-based insurer for non-Malaysia/Thailand vehicles)

  • Valid road tax disc/document

Application Process:

1. Apply online via LTA's VEP/Autopass digital service at least 2 weeks before entering Singapore. Payments accepted via credit/debit cards or mobile wallets. 

2. Once approved, you'll receive a VEP approval email.

3. Collect your Autopass card at a designated pick-up point in Malaysia (e.g., Johor Bahru or Iskandar Puteri). Bring along your ID/passport and the approval email for verification. 

4. Activate your card online before entering Singapore using the VEP system link provided in your email. 

Renewing or Replacing Your Autopass Card

When Renewal Is Needed:

• If your card has expired or is damaged, you must apply for a replacement via the same online portal. 

Updating Vehicle Details:

• Ensure your road tax and insurance details are up to date in the VEP system to avoid issues at the border.

Using & Managing Your Autopass Card

Topping Up:

• Autopass cards support up to SGD 500 in stored value.

• You can top up via:

  • NETS systems (ATMs, Self-Service Stations, and top-up machines)

  • Retail outlets like 7-Eleven, Cheers, and FairPrice Xpress

  • Auto top-up via the NETS FlashPay app for convenience

At the Checkpoint:

• Insert your Autopass card into the reader at the immigration checkpoint—even if the barrier is open.

• Only remove when the display confirms successful entry or exit as well as fee deductions.
