The "Table Order by Card" system integrates NFC (Near Field Communication) or QR code technology with a user-friendly interface, allowing diners to place orders directly from their tables using cards provided by the restaurant. Each card is embedded with a unique identifier linked to the table or customer, facilitating seamless communication between the customer and the kitchen.
 

How It Works

a. Table Setup

  • Card Placement: Each table is equipped with a designated card, either embedded with an NFC chip or printed with a unique QR code.

  • System Integration: The cards are integrated into the restaurant's POS (Point of Sale) system, ensuring real-time updates and order tracking.

b. Customer Interaction

  • Accessing the Menu:

    • NFC Method: Customers tap their NFC-enabled smartphones on the card, prompting the device to open the restaurant's digital menu.
    • QR Code Method: Customers scan the QR code using their smartphone cameras, which directs them to the digital menu.
  • Browsing and Selection:

    • The digital menu showcases high-quality images, descriptions, and prices of dishes.
    • Customers can filter items based on dietary preferences, popularity, or chef's recommendations.
  • Placing the Order:

    • After selecting their desired items, customers proceed to the checkout section.
    • They can customize orders (e.g., spice level, add-ons) and specify any special instructions.
  • Payment Options:

    • Customers can choose to pay immediately via integrated payment gateways (credit/debit cards, digital wallets) or opt to pay later.
  • Order Confirmation:

    • Once the order is placed, both the customer and the kitchen receive instant notifications. An estimated preparation time is also displayed.

c. Backend Operations

  • Order Management:

    • The kitchen staff receives organized order tickets, sorted by table number and order time.
    • Real-time updates allow staff to prioritize and manage orders efficiently.
  • Inventory Tracking:

    • The system updates ingredient usage with each order, aiding in inventory management and reducing wastage.
  • Analytics and Reporting:

    • The software gathers data on popular dishes, peak hours, and customer preferences, providing valuable insights for the restaurant management.
