Malaysia has officially received approval to export fresh coconuts to China following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both countries. This took place during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s three-day state visit to Malaysia. The agreement is the result of ongoing efforts and negotiations between Malaysia and China to strengthen long-standing trade relations.
Agriculture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said the MoU is an important step in boosting the competitiveness of Malaysian coconuts in the Chinese market. It encourages better farming practices among local coconut producers and shows the government’s commitment to improving food security and agricultural exports. The government will continue to support local farmers in reaching international markets and helping increase national income.
