Procedure:

• Your healthcare provider will use these scissors during the second stage of labor (the pushing stage).
• As your baby’s head stretches your vaginal opening, the provider will make the episiotomy incision using these specialized scissors.
• After delivery, your baby will be followed by the placenta.
