Products and services from Switzerland have a good reputation among consumers as they are consistently associated with quality, reliability, and exclusivity. The Swissness law, enforced since January 1, 2017, aims to prevent the misuse of the "Made in Switzerland" label. This legislation regulates the use of the terms "Switzerland," "Swiss-made," "Made in Switzerland," the Swiss cross symbol, and the arrow logo. This measure is taken to ensure the long-term credibility of Switzerland.
What does "Made In Switzerland" mean?
At least 60 percent of the production costs must be incurred in Switzerland for industrial goods to be allowed to use this label. All production-related costs, including research and development, quality assurance, and certification, can be factored into the calculation. Additionally, at least one essential step in the product's production must be carried out in Switzerland.

Many products formulated and produced under license by Swiss companies are not manufactured in Switzerland. Therefore, they do not comply with Switzerland's high standards for manufacturing, quality assurance, and product testing.
