Our Step for Flushing Air Conditioner
Refrigerant recovery machine
- Flushing agent approved for air conditioning systems
- Nitrogen or dry compressed air
- An air conditioning manifold gauge set
- A vacuum pump
- Appropriate safety gear (safety glasses, gloves, apron)
Safety Precautions
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses and gloves.
- Ensure that the work area is well-ventilated.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations for handling refrigerants.
Recover Refrigerant
- If your air conditioning system contains refrigerant, use a refrigerant recovery machine to safely recover and store the refrigerant. This is important for environmental and safety reasons.
Access the System
- Locate and access the high and low-pressure service ports on the air conditioning system.
Connect Equipment
- Connect the manifold gauge set to the service ports.
Evacuate the System
- Use a vacuum pump to evacuate the system, removing any remaining refrigerant, moisture, and air.
Flushing Process
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for introducing the approved flushing agent into the air conditioning system.
- Allow the flushing agent to circulate through the system, cleaning it of contaminants. This process may involve multiple cycles to ensure thorough cleaning.
Rinse and Drain
- After the flushing process, use clean, dry nitrogen or compressed air to flush out any remaining flushing agent from the system.
Inspect and Replace Components
- Inspect the air conditioning components for damage, wear, or signs of contamination. Replace any parts that are in poor condition.
Recharge the System
- If you recovered refrigerant at the beginning, recharge the system with the correct amount of refrigerant using an air conditioning service machine.
Check for Leaks
- Test the system for leaks by pressurizing it with nitrogen and checking for any loss of pressure.
Perform a Function Test
- After the service is complete, turn on the air conditioning system to ensure it's functioning correctly and cooling as expected.
Recover and Recycle Waste
- Ensure that any waste materials, including flushing agents and refrigerants, are collected and recycled in accordance with environmental regulations.
