The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that leftover special number plates from the MADANI series are now available for purchase online via the MySikap portal. This marks a change from previous procedures, where unsold plates could only be purchased at JPJ headquarters in Putrajaya or state JPJ offices. With this update, Malaysians can now browse and buy special number plates from the comfort of their homes.

The MADANI series, launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in October 2024, is part of the government’s Malaysia MADANI agenda to promote civic values and strengthen national identity. These plates were introduced as a special initiative under the government to support this national vision.

To make a purchase, users must log in to the MySikap portal, navigate to the ‘Kenderaan’ section, click on ‘Tempahan Nombor Pendaftaran’, and select ‘Nombor Pendaftaran Istimewa’ from the dropdown menu. After choosing a preferred number, payment can be made via credit card or FPX, and buyers can print their receipt directly from the system.

The online sale begins today, 23 June, and operates on a first come, first served basis. While no official prices have been announced for this round, previous sales listed regular numbers at RM100 and popular numbers at RM250.
