In celebration of its fifth anniversary, ACO Tech, the supplier of Proton's infotainment system, has unveiled the next-generation Atlas operating system (OS), introducing a host of new features designed to enhance the driving experience. These updates cater not only to traditional vehicles but also include specific functionalities for upcoming electric vehicles (EVs).
One of the most anticipated features of the next-gen Atlas OS is the expansion of the "Hi Proton" voice control system. Previously limited to English, the voice control will soon support Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and Cantonese. This multilingual support aims to better serve Malaysia’s diverse linguistic landscape, enabling users to interact with their vehicles in their preferred language.
The updated Atlas OS will also feature a more minimalist and customizable user interface, allowing users to drag and drop widgets according to their preferences. This visual overhaul is designed to make the system more intuitive and user-friendly.

Users will have access to a built-in application that allows for the one-touch location of nearby charging stations, payment for charging, and route planning with integrated charging stops. This functionality is crucial as Proton prepares to enter the EV market with models like the eMas 7, which is set to launch in December.
Moreover, video applications such as YouTube, MYTV Mana-Mana, and TikTok will be integrated into the Atlas OS, although these apps will likely only be usable when the vehicle is stationary. This move aligns with the growing demand for in-car entertainment and connectivity.
