With the official release of the EQE SUV, which arrived little over a month after its larger sibling, the EQS SUV, made its local premiere, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's all-electric EQ range has now grown to seven models (and nine versions).

The top-of-the-line EQE 500 4Matic is the only EQE SUV available for our market, similar to the EQS, which debuted here in its range-topping EQS 580 4Matic version. The five-seater completely imported costs RM485,888 (without insurance when used on public roads and with 10% sales tax added on).







Following the EQS SUV and the EQE and EQS sedans, the EQE SUV is the company's fourth model to be constructed on the Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) platform. The Malaysian edition of the EQE SUV is equipped with Digital Light headlamps, just like its sedan sibling. The SUV also sports the EQ family face.

Additionally, the local vehicle has an AMG Line appearance, which includes an AMG-specific front bumper painted in the vehicle's color with a black lower part. Along with the high-gloss chrome A-Wing trim, the kit adds black flics and fins to the front air inlets.





High-gloss chrome is used for the door trim strip, while black is also used for the side skirts. AMG-specific rear apron with black lower portion and vehicle color paint at the back, together with high-gloss chrome inserts at the back, are located there. Rubber-studded running boards with an aluminum-look and 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels complete the appearance.

The SUV's dual-motor setup, which produces 408 PS (402 horsepower or 300 kW) and 858 Nm of torque, is shown in the EQS 500 version. A 10-module, 400-volt, 90.6 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the motors and has a maximum travel distance of 552 km (WLTP). The 2,560 kg model's performance stats include a 4.9-second 0-100 km/h sprint time and a top speed of 210 km/h.





Similar to the EQS SUV, the EQE SUV has been equipped with a 22 kW AC onboard charger by MBM, which makes it the second EQ vehicle from the firm to have this feature. The usual charger is 11 kW. It takes four hours and forty-five minutes to fully charge a battery with 22 kW of power.

The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% state of charge in just 32 minutes using DC fast charging (CCS2 connection) at up to 170 kW. The carmaker claims that charging at the maximum pace can recover 250 km in just 15 minutes.





The MY-spec EQE SUV shares many of the same features as the EQS SUV, including an Airmatic air suspension system with continuously adjustable damping ADS+ dampers as standard. There's also a 10-degree steering angle on the rear axle for better mobility.

The EQE SUV and EQE sedan share almost the same interior design. The local specification offers a display package that includes a driver display, an OLED central infotainment touchscreen display, a head-up display, pre-installation for navigation services and live traffic information, and MBUX augmented reality for navigation. In contrast to the EQS, this setup lacks a Hyperscreen infotainment system.





The local car comes equipped with a Burmester 3D surround system with Dolby Atmos, a panoramic sunroof, AMG floor mats, climatized front seats, active ambient lighting, an Energizing package, an Air Balance package, an Acoustic Comfort package, and a multifunction sports steering wheel with nappa leather finish as standard equipment.


An AMG Line interior with SUV sports seats with more prominent seat side bolsters in leather black/space grey and brown open-pore magnolia wood trim pieces with aluminum pattern accents—the latter resembling the EQS SUV—are among the trim and material specifications for the EQS 500. The headliner is made of black cloth, and the center console has a black fine-structure finish.




The EQS SUV has the Driving Assistance Package Plus, which includes features like Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Steering Assist, Evasive Manoeuvre Support, Pre-Safe Impulse Side, and rear sensors for the lane departure assistant, among other safety and driving assistance systems. Additionally, a 360-degree camera and parking package are installed as standard on the vehicle.
