The fourth-generation Carnival has a brand-new appearance thanks to its makeover. As usual, Kia applies its "Opposites United" design concept, and the Carnival also receives a dash of "Modern Boldness." Putting away immaterial ideologies, the 2017 Carnival has a revised grille and headlamp design that more closely resembles the Kia EV9.

The headlights of the new Carnival have a vertical element on the upper portion that is connected to the vertical element on the outside. Even though the front grille has a new appearance, it is still very noticeable. Its foundations are essentially the same as those of its predecessor, save from that.
The new Kia Carnival features taillights around the back with vertical components added to the outside borders. To make the tailgate appear broader and cleaner, Kia also lowered the rear plate and eliminated the exposed tailgate handle. With this makeover, the black claddings are much more noticeable.

The Kia Carnival will also be offered with a "Gravity" specification at launch, which includes unique wheels, a grille, and black metallic accents on the door garnish, roof rack, C-pillar, tailgate, front skid plate, and rear skid plate.
Although Kia has not yet disclosed all of the powertrain specifications for the new Carnival, it has previously said that three different powertrain options will be available: gasoline, diesel, and hybrid. A 1.6-liter turbocharged engine will be available in the hybrid variant.
