Following the completion of the first pre-delivery inspections (PDI) late last month, Chery Malaysia has began deliveries of the locally-assembled (CKD) Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro models to its clients.

It's a minor delay compared to the business's initial planned delivery deadlines, which Chery Malaysia notes is owing to the high quality standards the company applies on every car rolling off its Kulim, Kedah production floor.





"Chery Malaysia has implemented multiple rounds of PDI checks, as opposed to a single inspection." "Each of these rounds is meticulously carried out on every aspect of the vehicle, from mechanical components to safety features, and even aesthetic details," the business stated in a statement.

Recognizing its difficulties, the company has made changes to its production process in order to speed up deliveries.

"Chery has been accelerating progress in various aspects in Malaysia, from production line standards to dealer process standardization, from spare parts inventory to the establishment of after-sales service centers, ensuring both product quality and service excellence," Leo Chen, Chery Malaysia Executive Vice President, said.



In July of this year, Chery announced its official comeback to Malaysia, with the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro models both launching in CKD form, demonstrating the company's commitment to the Malaysian market.

The Chery Omoda 5 is offered in two variations, with the entry-level C model starting at RM108,800. The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is a seven-seater SUV that costs RM159,800 on the road and without insurance in its single configuration.
